The Centre for the Development of Inclusive Education for Handedness Equity in partnership with the African Left Handers Foundation in partnership will host the Inclusive Education and Handedness Equity Colloquium on Wednesday 13 August 2025 at the Platinum Village
Primary School in Rustenburg, Bojanala District – North West Province in South Africa. This event aims to bring together educators,
policymakers, researchers, left-handed advocates, and community members to explore the significance of inclusive education practices for left-handed individuals. The colloquium will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering dialogue, and promoting strategies to support handedness equity in educational settings
Objectives
- Raise Awareness: Increase understanding of the challenges faced by left-handed students in educational environments and the importance of inclusivity
- Share Best Practices: Provide a forum for educators and experts to present successful inclusive educational strategies and programs that accommodate left-handed learners
- Engage Stakeholders: Facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, and left-handed advocacy groups
- Policy Recommendations: Develop concrete policy recommendations to enhance the educational experiences of left-handed learners and students
