The African Left Handers Foundation (ALHF) was privileged to attend the Neurodiversity Career Fair 2026, hosted by the Centre for Neurodiversity at the University of Johannesburg under the leadership of Prof Sefotho.
In a letter of appreciation dated 30 March 2026, ALHF Communications and Stakeholder Relations representative Mandla Simelane described the event as “a one-of-a-kind experience” — one that was exceptionally well organised and that genuinely delivered on its promise of being an asset-based event. Rather than focusing on limitations, the fair celebrated the strengths and talents that neurodivergent individuals bring to the world of work and beyond.
For the ALHF, the day was time well invested — spent in the company of learners, educators, speakers, and advocates who refuse to be defined by what they cannot do, but instead by what they can. Prof Sefotho’s warmth and hospitality as host, together with the dedication of the organising team and the energy of the participating schools and learners, made the event both meaningful and memorable.
The ALHF recognises the deep alignment between the neurodiversity movement and our own mission of celebrating uniqueness and advocating for those who have historically been overlooked or misunderstood. Events like the Neurodiversity Career Fair remind us that inclusion is not charity — it is the recognition of inherent value in every individual.
The Centre for Neurodiversity at UJ can count on the continued goodwill and support of the African Left Handers Foundation as it advances this vital work.
“Celebrating uniqueness, inspiring greatness.”
